Fourteen players have signed scholarships at the club ahead of the new Under 18 Professional Development League season. Many have already featured at <Sheffield United's> Under 18s level in the last 12 months
Goalkeeping duo Ryan Andrews and Coby Hewitson have also both signed scholarships, as have Dovydas Sasnauskas and Jackson Blaize who featured last season after joining from Chelsea in January, along with attacking midfielder Jaye Long from Fulham.
Under 18s head coach, Matt Thorpe, commented: "We are delighted to welcome this year's intake of scholars who will complement a strong group of second years who have the Sheffield United steel mentality.
"Pre-season is well underway and we are excited to develop the individual player potential."
Dovydas Sasnauskas
Position: Defender
Nationality: Lithuania
Dovydas Sasnauskas arrived at the club as a pre-scholar in January from Chelsea and made several under 18s appearances. Good in the air but comfortable playing out from the back, the Lithuanian youth team international is entering the first year of his scholarship with the Blades.
