WE are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement to sign winger Tomas Kalinauskas following the conclusion of his contract this summer with FC Den Bosch, subject to EFL approval.
The versatile attacking player will join the Brewers on a three-year deal.
The 24-year-old spent his youth career playing non-league football in England before joining Barnsley in the summer of 2021 following an impressive trial period.
During his time at Oakwell, he spent time on loan at AFC Wimbledon under new Brewers Head Coach Mark Robinson, before a spell at Havant & Waterlooville.
Kalinauskas joined FC Den Bosch in January 2023, making 16 appearances in Dutch football.
Tomas has experience at international level, making two appearances for the Lithuania national team and made his debut in a Nations League match against Luxembourg.
Bendik Hareide, Burton Albion Sporting Director, said: “Tomas is a talented and creative winger, who also offers us options in other attacking areas. We believe the attributes he possesses, in particular his flair and technical prowess, will give us an added threat in the attacking third.”
On signing, Kalinauskas said: “I’m really excited to get going. From speaking to the owners and hearing about the project I feel that Burton Albion will be a really good fit for me. The English football pyramid is renowned globally and it’s where I want to be. It’s nice to be back home in England with my family and I can’t wait to get going - I feel like I’m ready to step up and showcase myself.”
